because we all need to dream a little
Sunday Dalí: The First Days of Spring, 1929. Oil an collage on panel, 45.5 x 64 cm, The Salvador Dalí Museum, St. Petersburg, FL.

Dalí had just begun his affair with Gala, which helped end his tumultuous period prior to 1929. The film Un Chien andalou, which he collaborated on with Luis Bruñel, opened to wild success throughout Paris. The film, and Bruñel, influenced this painting, which is one of Dalí’s most overtly Freudian of all his works.
