Sunday Dalí: The Cosmic Athlete 1968.

The rights to the painting were donated to the campaign to make Barcelona the site of the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. The painting was used as a promotional poster. The campaign was ultimately successful with Barcelona beating out Paris, Brisbane, and Belgrade. Many Americans will remember this was the Olympics for the first US Men’s Basketball “Dream Team.” Dalí was never able to see the ultimate fruits of his labor due to his death in 1989.
