Sunday Dalí: A Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate One Second Before Awakening.
The inspiration for this extremely popular painting was actually not Dalí’s at all, but it was his wife, Gala’s.  She described the dream in detail to Dalí, which he painted. The woman pictured is Gala. Dalí claimed this painting to be the first representation of Freud’s discovery that external stimuli could be the cause for a dream.
